Human Trafficking

What is Human Trafficking?

The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) defines "severe forms of trafficking" as:

a. sex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in
which the person induced to perform such an act has not attained 18 years of age; or,

b. the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.

A victim need not be physically transported from one location to another in order for the crime to fall within these definitions.

L - LAUNCH public awareness about child trafficking and the solution.

I - INSPIRE the children to pursue their dreams and become all God intended them to be.

F - FEED the children a nutritious, well-balanced meal plan.

E - EDUCATE the children from pre-school to high school, and up to trade school or university level.

C - COMMIT to provide long-term comprehensive care for children.

H - HOUSE the children in safe, loving, joy-filled homes, staffed by high quality care givers.

A - ACT in support of government and legal efforts.

N - NURTURE the children - spirit, soul, and body.

G - GIVE restorative and rehabilitative care.

E - EQUIP the children with principles for success and the life skills necessary to become productive and positive influencers in their communities and world.
